Cinematic Projects + Longer Form Videos

My full-year Senior Project for the UConn DMD BFA Senior Exhibition.

After losing her best friend, a girl descends into numbness, spending days lost in memories until she finds reminders of their shared history. Faced with the bittersweet weight of joy turned to grief, she grapples with intense emotions, chasing the fading shadows of a bond she loved so much. Does she keep running after the shadows? Or let go of her forever?

What is dance? A documentary focused on trying to define dance, from the perspective of dancers themselves. What goes unseen? What actually gets shown? What is it considered? What is dance to you? Taking a glimpse into some lives of dancers much gets revealed.

Spec Ad for Spotify Blend! This was a group project for my Advanced Cinematography class, where I was a Grip and Production Designer. So much fun!

For my Advanced Cinematography class, we were tasked to shoot a scene twice with two different sets of shot choices. We had to first shoot it as a long take and then shoot it again from different angles. This scene is portraying the feeling of dancers being on stage and the feeling of stage freight. For a dancer, when this happens it feels like everything freezes at that moment, but for everyone else, time never stops, and may not even notice at all.

For my Documentary Film Production class, we had this assignment. We were tasked to make a “character study” of a place of our choice. We were told to show its mood, nature, characters, and/or dramatic tensions entirely through imagery and natural sound. I chose a coffee shop I am constantly at that I love. To me, it is a very safe space with great people, which is exactly what I wanted to showcase with the video. I wanted to convey that feeling while also showing the really amazing human connection aspect of the environment.

For my Documentary Film Production class, we were given this assignment. We had to pick a location we had never been to before. We were told to go to our chosen location, find a story, and just film it. This is life unfolding through a day of a volunteer firefighter. They were checking their equipment, going through practice training, and patiently waiting and hanging out until they got a real call.

This was an assignment for my Advanced Cinematography class. We were assigned to choose an art painting and create a two-minute-long live-action short piece.

For my Documentary Film Production class, we were given the assignment to create an interview-based video. I filmed two sisters with very contradicting personalities and interests talking about their lives on their family's farm.

A music video created for my Cinematography final. The message I wanted this story to show was that you're truly not as alone as you think. A college girl with social anxiety has trouble fitting into her new college. She struggles until she meets another girl going through the same feelings. The artist of the song says "This song is a bit of a reminder that if you ever doubt yourself, you’re great and you’ve totally got this."

This was an assignment I created for my video editing class. We were supposed to create a montage style video of any kind. Dance, being such a huge passion and part of my life, was the first thing that came to my mind. I went through and found many of my old and newer dance videos to cut together and create into a montage. The overall message I wanted to share was to NEVER GROW UP!

A video that I created for the Rural Schools Association of New York State student video contest. I was one of two grand prize winners and the theme for the contest was: Our School. Our Community.

This video started out as a project for the PTSA Reflections Contest, but the more I worked on it, the closer to my heart it got and found myself wanting to share this message. This video responds to the topic which was, I Matter Because, and includes real responses of peers I talked to.
